Breed: Mini Rex Bunny
Pet description: Please help!!! I'm moving abroad to India in 2 1/5 months (October perhaps), and unfortunately, I am unable to bring my pet bunny with me (his name is Sammy). I need to find him a new happy home, along with new responsible owner(s). Obviously these 2 requirements go hand in hand. It is in his best interest to go to a new home. He's not well suited for travel to India like any other rabbit. It is a long journey and there are strict import orders in place for bringing a rabbit to India.
I love Sammy a lot and I'm an animal love. I'm sad he will not be joining me in India. And I regret having to find him a new home. I hope he'll be happy in his new home. I also have 2 dogs. They grew up with Sammy so they are gentle with him. His new home can include dogs/Cats even but the dogs/cats would have to understand him and be familiar with a bunny. And always supervise their interaction.
Sammy is easy to take care of. I leave out his food all day and fill it to the top when it drops. I leave out plenty of fresh water for him 24/7. Pets should always have access to clean fresh water. I don't have a cage for him at this time. He is used to having the bathroom at his quarters. I have a little rabbit house and a little box in there - his has claimed a small area and he stays in that area. He does use the litter box that I put in the corner, but I often have to sweep the area of the bathroom that he has claimed. Good news is he pees in the litter box always.
He likes lettuce and spinach leaves as a snack. He loves Timothy Hay - you can buy it in Walmart, along with his food..rabbit pellets. His food and treats are not expensive by any means, especially if you shop at Walmart.
He loves a particular treat and I will share the name of them with you for sure. They are yogurt treats especially for small critters.
Sammy does not bite but he does have a fiesty side when around the dogs..which is funny..the dogs are scared of him and don't get too close. Sammy is very independent and likes his alone time but he also likes to be patted. Every domesticated animal likes attention.
I may have a cage in the garage I will look for it... and if I do I'll include it free of charge in case you want to keep him in a cage. If I don't have a cage and if you don't... Then I will buy you a cage.
Pls remember if you want to keep him in a cage, make sure you bring him out every day for exercise and a chance to play. . Don't forget about him in there. Don't take him off my hands on impulse and then find out a pet rabbit isn't for u.
Sammy is considered a rabbit. His true name is a mini-rex bunny. He's all gray and he's sooooo cute. He's my dog's "brother". Sammy is almost 4 years old and that's middle age in rabbit years I believe. He's in excellent health. I will bring him to the veternarian one more time for one last check up, before I give him up.
My dogs will miss him very much and so will I, but I wouldn't want anything to happen to him during travel or in India so it is best to find a new home for him here before I go. I have to be strong and let him go. It would be selfish on my part otherwise. With Sammy, I'll include his food and water dish, his wooden house (he loves it), a travelling kennel, the litter box, instructions on how to care for him, a list of misc things he likes/dislikes, bag of litter paper, food bag, bag of treats, and so on.

We can email you lots of pictures if you want. We will be happy to drop him off someplace reasonable or meet you somewhere reasonable if you are inable to make it to the whitehall residence to pick him up.
