The two best things you can do to avoid pet scammers is:
- Make sure you talk to someone on the phone. Do NOT do everything via email.
- If possible, only look into pets that are local, or that you can reasonably drive to. Avoid any shipping of pets, even with pets that are free.

Breed: Weimaraner and Boxer mix (rescue)
Pet description: I have two wonderful pets that need a new home. My husband and I have had to relocate into a smaller home without any acreage due to the economy. I have also had to return to work full time and no longer have the time to dedicate to this high energy duo. One is a pure bred weimaraner named Snoopy that we have had since he was a puppy and he is now 5. Ginger is a boxer/ridgeback mix that we have had for two years. She is very loving and loyal and need lots of affection. Snoopy is extremely high energy and needs to be run everyday or he will get into trouble. We love these dogs more than we could possibly express and it is with a very heavy heart that we have made the decision to give them up, however we feel we are doing them an injustice by keeping them. I will keep them as long as it takes to find them the PERFECT home.
Our ideal home for them would be with a very active outdoorsman or couple that live on a few acres. They love exploring and hiking, but will only play outside when we are with them. They are good with children, but I would prefer a home without so that I know that they are getting the attention that they deserve. If they do not work out I will take them back, however I hope that with this detailed description only serious inquiries will respond. I have many pictures that capture the spirit of this couple and will be glad to email them.
