Magnetic Bracelets and Pain Relief: Types and Models

By: Kurt Schmitt

You may know by now that magnetic bracelets are used primarily for pain all up and down the arm. You probably also know that golfers and arthritis sufferers wear them, and some people wear them as a preventative measure.

You may also have been exposed to some of the benefits of wearing a magnetic bracelet. What you may not know is what the differences are between the various types.

Although bracelets are made in different ways, there are a few different major styles based on construction. When shopping for bracelets, here are the main types you'll be looking at.

The basic types of magnetic bracelets are made as singles, doubles, triples, or lariats.

Singles - Single bracelets are made from a single strand of bead. They can be either all magnetic beads, or magnetic beads with accent beads of some kind. They can be the claspless stretchy type, or be strung on non-stretchy material with a magnetic clasp.

Doubles - Doubles offer the opportunity to double the number of magnets. They are made with two strands of beads with a magnetic clasp.

Triples - Triple bracelets are made with three strands of beads and a magnetic clasp. They may have up to three times the number of magnets as a single.

Lariats - Magnetic lariats are also called magnetic wraps or snakes, and can be used as a necklace or an anklet as well. Although varying sizes are available, they are typically 36 or 37 inches long. Instead of a clasp, they simply wrap around your arm, your neck, or your ankle, and use the magnets to hold together. Lariats are popular because of their unique look, and their versatility and strength.

Now that you know the basic types, you can better make your choice. Keep in mind that style and attractiveness are secondary concerns unless you're buying strictly for fashion.

One more thing to note: when choosing magnetic bracelets, you want the maximum therapy advantages for pain relief. That means selecting the one with the largest number of strong magnets.
