Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre

The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre has everything that an aquatic fan would want to see. It is an interactive and educational center that takes you to the bottom of the ocean to experience aquatic plants and animals from all over the world. Adults and children love to visit this fun science center located in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.

The idea behind the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre is to conserve and save animals and plants all over the world. For instance, it works to protect sea turtles that live on the Pacific Coast. The Leatherback turtle that lives on the British Columbia coast is a phenomenal species of reptile that needs to be protected from boats and fishermen.

The salmon conservation program is another important activity of the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre, which tracks salmon and schools of salmon to ensure the fish are able to make their famous trek upstream to spawn. It also protects different species of salmon from over fishing by educating the public on these great fish and their epic journey.

The center is a great opportunity for kids to learn about marine mammals, including whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and otters. In addition to running great conservation programs for these marine mammals and maintaining a great rescue program that regularly rescues wayward marine mammals and allows them to recuperate before returning them to the wild. For visitors, the center offers a great exhibit of marine mammals, including their new dolphin that has just recently been moved to the center.

The center offers a unique combination of fun and learning for kids. Its interactive programs offer great glimpses of aquatic plant and animal life. The tide pool allows them to handle this wonderful wildlife like sea urchins and sand dollars. So the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center offers the entire family a combination of education and fun.

Those of you having a favorite among marine animals, the Center runs family oriented programs to get up close and personal with your marines. The Beluga whale tour is one such program where you can touch the whale, train it, and even make their dinner. The trainer tour allows you to understand the behind the scenes activities at the center. You can also spend the night in the aquarium!

If you are wondering what animals call the British Columbia coast home, check out the great exhibits at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center! From salmon exhibits to those unique fish, crustaceans, and plants that live under the waters adjacent to British Columbia.

If you wish to travel many miles deep into the tropical rainforests of South America, go to the great Amazon Rainforest exhibit filled with unique and interesting creatures that are native to the Amazon River and river basin.

The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center is a must-see for kids and adults. It is located in the lovely Stanley Park no more than five minutes from downtown Vancouver.
