Training Cats To Use The Toilet
You may think that getting your cat to use the toilet is something of an impossibility. However on the contrary, cat potty training is not as impossible as it sounds. Although it can take time, you can successfully train your cat to use the toilet.
The reason it is possible to train cats is because they are intelligent animals. While humans behavior is based more on habit, a cat depends on instinct. If you want to make your cat potty training a success, you will need to eradicate the normal instinct that a cat has to cover up its urine and feces.
There are many products available on the market for potty training your cat. These products come with inserts that fit into the toilet, making it possible for cats to use cat litter. Your cat thus considers, and treats this insert as a litter box till it gets familiar with it.
Consequently, your cat has to get used to using the toilet seat while defecating. To enable this, your toilet should also provide for such training by perhaps being able to fit a shallow pail under the toilet seat.
For those with an extra bathroom, the water here could be switched off and this room dedicated to training the cat. As the cat’s training improves, the water can be turned back on. Once the cat has become familiar with the insert, you can then place a hole in the insert which is the next step in the training process.
With the passage of weeks, you can not only increase the size of the hole, but your cat gets used to using lesser amounts of litter. Your cat will soon become familiar with using the toilet without litter and you will then have finished your toilet training your cat.

You can also train dogs to use the toilet, cat litter or eliminate on puppy pads. A couple of my friends live in apartments, so their dogs are trained like this in case they don’t have time to go outside.
