Question by nlehman79: Should Bassett Hounds eat “Large Breed” Dog Food?
I’m wondering if my bassett should eat the “large breed” dry dog food (for example Science Diet or Nutro brands) or if “regular” dry dog food will be just as good? Is there really a difference?

Best answer:

Answer by Elle R
YES but not those brands you named. the brand ‘ Iams’ is a great dog food for big dogs.

Link me a picture of your dog in a show groom/show cut, and link me one of your breed in a “pet groom”.

Since my breed, the Australian Shepherd, looks basically the same, i’ll give an example with another breed.

Also for Breeders+Handlers:
Do you keep your dogs in a show cut once they are finished, or do you upkeep the groom in case you ever want to take them back for Specials?

Also- If you have a short-haired breed, link me one in “show condition” and one as someone’s pet. Believe it or not, short-haired breeds can be out of coat, too.

Answer by Kristin B ©
I don’t really think that APBTs have “cuts” for show, but they do have body condition for showing, ESPECIALLY in ADBA.
